I even uninstalled it before he installed it on his PC. Basically Dr Fone locks onto 1 device/PC and lets you do 5 slots of devices on that same PC. I don’t know how other people are doing it but - I went through the trouble with one guy of him paying me and logging in but somehow the module in his PC wasn’t activated. So just be mindful of this because it's a real pain the ass to have to wait 24 hours when you're so close to being done! (Personal experience haha).Īnyways, I do have 4 slots left for USD 5 each (total was USD 21.95) via Paypal. Later on when you successfully pass this step on the Source Phone, you will also need to login to the Whatsapp on your Destination Phone. Because my initial process failed multiple times, I had to do this step more than once, and after about 3-4 times, Whatsapp has a timeout for the OTP request which goes something like 15mins, 9hours, 24hours, 48 hours etc. So really lean on them and use screenshots too.īe careful with the Whatsapp Authentication OTP - essentially what Dr Fone does is backup your messages, and then uninstalls your Whatsapp, and then reinstalls a special version of Whatsapp -> you then have to relogin to this one and request an OTP. They also kept prompting me to send them log files when I had issues so they could get to the root cause and overall were super responsive. When I thought my Connector App wasn't downloading, they send me a gdrive link to download it directly too. I feel like they really want the product to work for you - for my issue above, they sent me a google drive link with a specific version of Dr Fone to redownload and it worked. I read on forums that people thought they were super unresponsive but I have the opposite experience and I could honestly even show you all the email threads we have to prove it. If you have any issues at all, contact the Dr Fone Customer Service team. The fix for this is the in line with the next tip: I actually prefer this method and find this helpful because it gives you a "checkpoint" kind of where you can pick up where you left off if something screws up halfway.Īt one point, I had successfully connected my Source phone and it was going through the process, but it got stuck on 66% at Step 3: "Activate the app and restore the backup" and kept looping between opening my Whatsapp and restarting it. If you don't have enough ports on your laptop / PC to connect two phones (source and destination phone) + charge your laptop, you can try doing it separately by doing "Back Up Whatsapp Messages" first and then "Restore to Device" afterwards. It seemed pretty random cus it would work suddenly after plugging it in for the 20th time lol, but I don't think everyone will have this problem. Be sure to follow the instructions on USB debugging and downloading the Connector App on your source phone, and also just keep trying by unplugging and replugging the cable back in. And after sometime, it will say Connection Failed. It just seems a bit buggy and it kept getting stuck at Connecting rather than Connected (which is what you want it to be). One step that I kept failing at first was connecting my source phone even after purchasing. You're allowed to Connect for free but the Transfer step is when you are asked to pay. Once I was able to, I felt more confident in purchasing the license. If you're worried about spending money and the app not working for you, what I did was download the software first, and then check if you can get to a Connected status on your source phone. Watch at least one or two youtube videos on the transfer process, the one I watched and often referred to was in Indonesian here, but there's also this or this. These will make more sense once you actually start the process hehe. Thought I'd share some troubleshooting tips that might or might not be helpful to you, but are what I faced and overcame. Overall, even after watching the YT vids and following each step, the process took a while because little parts here and there would work sometimes and not other times. common mistakes that might screw the process up). I was hesitant at first because of all the mixed reviews, but although people say success rates tend to vary, I think it really just takes the user being careful, following each step carefully, and researching beforehand the process (I watched like 3+ish Youtube videos before starting the process to get how other people do it, and learn about what to watch out for ie. I have all my Whatsapp chats on my iPhone now, even starred messages soo yay. So I finally caved and purchased Dr Fone to transfer Whatsapp from Samsung Note 10+ to an iPhone 13 Pro, and it actually worked.
